Paris for Free: The Carnavalet Museum, delightfully quaint!

The Carnavalet Museum in Paris is worth the visit for several reasons. Firstly it is located in the very heart of the Marais area in two beautiful mansions, the Hôtel Carnavalet, from the Renaissance period, and the Hôtel Le Peletier de Saint Fargeau, from 17th century. And despite this exceptional location it remains quiet and not too busy. Secondly the permanent collections of the museum can be visited for free (while the temporary exhibitions are paying). And thirdly it is delightfully quaint, as no other museum in Paris!

Villa Flora: A Must-See Exhibition in Paris Until 7 February

The prestigious collection of paintings of the Swiss couple Arthur and Hedy Hahnloser is currently shown in the Musée Marmottan in Paris in a beautiful exhibition: Villa Flora, les temps enchantés. One can admire there 75 masterpieces, all by great artists, Impressionists, Nabis, Fauves,… It is in my opinion one of the top three exhibitions not to be missed in Paris this winter. It started last September and is still running until 7 February. If you have not seen it yet, go and visit it straight away: it is really amazing!

The New Musée Rodin in Paris: So Beautiful!

The Musée Rodin reopened on 12 November after a complete restoration over the past three years. This event makes the Parisian people and the tourists happy as the Musée Rodin is among the ten most visited museums in France. And one can easily understand why: the Hôtel Biron where the museum is located, its three-hectare park and the works of art (mainly sculpures of course) exhibited are all three just amazing… even more after the renovation!

About the Musée Rodin

The museum is located in the magnificent Hôtel Biron, a building from 18th century which is a true gem of classical architecture embellished with woodworks and rocaille decoration in some of the rooms.
